Definition

Very good in all types of soil texture and chemical fertility. Winter hardiness and high drought tolerance. Waterlogging sensitive.

Characteristics

National genetic improvement. Good establishment speed and winter hardiness. Prostrate habit when young, excellent ability to compete with tough weeds. 170 to 190 days to flowering (depending on area).

Recommendations for use

– Good response to roller chopping.
– Better weed control when drilled than when broadcasted.
– Adapts well to sub-optimal seeding dates (April-June).

Seeding rate

– Between 40 and 60 plants/m2 as target.
– 20-25 kg/ha when pure, and 15-20 kg/ha when mixed.

Latte 920 Alfalfa

Group 9 cultivar without winter rest, of American origin, with high forage yield potential in intensive grazing systems and under cutting, very high production in different regions and outstanding resistance to aphids and viruses. Taprooted and with great resistance to water stress conditions. Erect habit and very well-balanced leaf/stem ratio. Large leaflets.

– 16-18 kg/ha in 17.5-cm rows to achieve 200-250 plants/m2

Recommendations for use

– Pure alfalfa: high forage production all year round. Respect autumn rest.

Nilo Ht Lotus

Cultivar with an intermediate production cycle and excellent plant health, a characteristic that contributes to its persistence. First cultivar obtained from the genetic improvement plan due to its high tannin content. Given its production distribution (spring-summer-autumn), it tends to produce more in spring and autumn than common materials.

– Associated with base grasses (4-6 kg/ha).

Recommendations for use

– Pastures with high production and persistence in paddocks of limiting pH (high or low).

– Short rotation pastures (2-3 kg/ha).

Mate Falaris
